CANADIAN BASIC EMDR TRAINING(EMDRIA-APPROVED)Add joy, hope and optimism to your clinical practice. Exceptional treatment outcomes are not unusual. Look forward to going to work every day -- reduce the possibility of compassion fatigue. This EMDR training program, originally established in 1999, has an excellent track record for producing confident EMDR clinicians. Under the direction of Barbara Horne MASc, RP, RMFT & EMDRIA-Approved Consultant, the Niagara Stress & Trauma Clinic offers regularly-scheduled and private on-site courses in Eastern and Central Canada. NSTC offers the only French-language EMDR training program in North America, under the direction of Philippe Gauvreau PsyD & EMDRIA-Approved Consultant. These small-group trainings (maximum 30) are well recognized in the Canadian EMDR community for their effectiveness in enabling clinicians to immediately incorporate EMDR into their work with clients. In fact, enthusiastic previous course participants are our biggest source of referrals to the program. Niagara Stress & Trauma Clinic (NSTC)'s BASIC EMDR TRAININGThere are three steps to completing NSTC's 60 hour Basic EMDR Training program:
NSTC delivers the program over two long weekends. The consultation hours follow each training weekend, usually in 2-hour group teleconferences with one of our EMDRIA-Approved Consultants. We also offer privately arranged on-site courses at your agency. The program is expanding into new centres – please contact us if you would like a course either at your site or in your city. WHY CHOOSE NSTC?
ABOUT THE COURSEThe program is divided into three parts:
During both parts 1 & 2, you will do personal EMDR work in groups of 2 or 3, closely supervised by EMDRIA-Approved Consultants (on a 10:1 ratio). There are 20 hours of these practicums included in the program. Following each of our training weekends, you will have what you need to immediately begin using EMDR with your clients. Our training groups often go on to form peer-support networks or consultation groups for continued clinical support. WHO CAN ENROLL?EMDRIA-Approved Basic EMDR Training is open to clinicians holding a Masters-level (or higher) education in a counselling field. Membership in a professional association with a Code of Ethics and sanctioning ability is also required. For those in private practice we require proof of Liability Insurance.
